The almost 1,000 hectares linked to the production of the Institute represent the soil properties of the Middle-Tisza region. Together with the existing farming system, this feature provides a good opportunity for practical training of secondary and higher level (BSc, MSc) students, the creation of model farms, demonstration areas, and extension bases, as well as the provision of an experimental background for doctoral students (PhD students). The Research Institute can play an innovative role in the development of the region's agriculture in accordance with the requirements of sustainability, in education and rural development.
The Research Institute's research capacity, R&D results, research bases, and reference sites form the basis of continuing education and practical education in addition to its research and development tasks. Focus areas: crop production, tillage, soil improvement, plant breeding, sheep farming, turf management, analysis of soil and plant tests.
